About SJE Group

Avron Ply operates under the illustrious banner of SJE Group. Founded over two decades ago by a visionary, what started out as just a small retail shop expanded exponentially under the leadership of Mr. Om Prakash Chhawchhria to become one of the most respected names in the Indian Plywood Industry. SJE Group manufactures Plywood, Shuttering Ply & Doors from its two production facilities based out of Kanpur & Yamuna Nagar.

The Kanpur unit registered under the name – Doors India Pvt Ltd, Unnao near Kanpur, U.P has a total production capacity of 30,00,000 CBM annually.

The following slides contain pictures of the processes we undertake towards manufacturing Avron Ply along with the capital machines employed toward achieving that purpose.

Log Inspection

Every log of class 1 durable hardwood timber undergoes stringent checks for suitability before being cut to specific sizes based on requirements.

The cut to size logs are then peeled in uniform thickness veneers by high speed peeling machines.

Sorting & Drying

After peeling, the core veneers are further sorted in different grades depending on the size and defects in the veneer. The inferior grades are then sold off in the market to other factories while the full core cut veneers are then taken through a two step drying process to reduce moisture content and destroy micro orgasms.

Assembly

Alternate layers of glued and non-glued veneers are stacked on top of each other with a 90 degree cross section in alternate layers to ensure strength and dimensional stability.

Resin Gluing

Alternate Core veneers are glued using an in-house manufactured resin which is an un-extended formulation to ensure consistent quality.

Pre Press & Hot Press

Post assembly of core veneers on the table, they are pre-pressed during which the assembled veneers are subjected to high pressure in ambient temperature to ensure uniform spread of resin throughout plywood, stabilization of core layers and stronger bonding. Post Pre press the sheets are loaded into the hot press for polymerization where each panel is subjected to high temperature and pressure to achieve uniform density and permanent bonding.

Dimensional Cutting

The pressed ply is then feeded into a laser guided automated sawing machine to be trimmed horizontally and vertically to achieve dimensional accuracy before moving on for Sanding.

Sanding, Caliberating & Preservative Treatment

Post Resizing of Plywood sheets in standard sizes, the panels finally go through preservative treatment, face sanding and thickness caliberation to make sure final product is free of all defects and ready for use.

Inspection & Finishing

Finally, each and every panel goes through rigorous inspection for bonding and finish before being dispatched to the market. An in house lab conducts tests on every batch of resin and plywood to ensure consistent quality. The final sheets are ready to be shipped to our partners across India and ready for use by customers.
